watching people

I love watching people... scary? don't worry i'm harmless and i dont bite hehehe.

Caught this guy texting while holding the hands of the statue of Evilio Javier (a martyr for democracy during the Marcos regime) and i just can't help but take this photo. But the flash of my camera caught his attention and he said "Uy ginagawa mo akong model ha" (You're making me a model huh) and he proceed to chat with me and take a look at his picture :) thankfully he was okay and didnt get mad at me.

Sometimes i do ask permission to take a person's photo, but more often than not I just snap away... how about you, do you ask for permission first?

j'aime beaucoup la premiere photo, on dirait deux amis.
Je demande la permission que si sur la photo, il y a des enfants.

I love the first photo, it looks like two friends.
I ask for permission if the photo, there are children.

Well done... not to mention the artistic component of the shot. You just did something I've always wanted to do but couldn't... either because I'm too slow or too chicken.

I love this photo, Pusa, and like you love to take people's photos. Sometimes I ask permission but normally just snap it - else the moment is lost. Sometimes if I see people with dogs, I ask but they are normally for my Riviera Dogs blog.

This is just super and I'm glad the guy was happy. Mostly, you know, people don't mind.

Great shot. Generally I ask permission. Its taken me ages to pluck up the courage to do so. Most people are really happy about it. Especially in London. Not so easy in other places.

Nice spur-of-the moment shot.
I originally thought the guy's
left hand was in an un-natural position but I will probably
do the same thing if my left hand
needs something to do or lean on.

This photo is just so neat. He is very unaware that you took his photo and maybe even unaware he was holding hands with the statue. Too funny.

I usually just snap away too. Every now and then I ask but when I snap a photo, I try not to get their faces too much.

Like Oliver, if there are children, I ask. If not, most of the time I take the picture, and then decide if I should discuss it with them. When people know their picture is being taken, they freeze up or pose.

Bilib talaga ako sau! Hindi ko yan kayang gawin...One time, i've tried taking pictures of street kids, one of them noticed me at nagtakbuhan sila palapit saken. natakot ako baka sugurin ako ng magulang nila...hehe

...kaya ayun, halaman na lang at insekto na walang malay ang kinukuhanan ko.LOL

I do exactly like you.

Love this picture. It is very funny. You should have given him the address of your blog so he can admire himself.

thanks to all of you, at lest now i know i'm not the only one who "snaps" :) and really most of the time people love having their picture taken

@jilly - you're right, sometimes if you hesitate to take the photo, the moment is lost

@mo - coz sometimes i get too chicken to ask a person of i can take his/her photo

@art - maybe you're right, sometimes we need something to hold on to :)

@lc2scpbk - yeah he looks so funny holding the statues hand hence i cant resist =)

@ely - i understand, they all want to gather right in your face... but you should try it, those street children just want to see their faces once you've taken the shot, and ask for another pose :)

i have tons of photos of street children in my archive giving their best smiles =)

@elay - nadaan sa charm LOL, he actually looked at his photo in my camera viewer, and i think he like it naman :)

@elaine - yeah i totally forgot to give him my blog's address and just remembered after i left

I always wonder if I should ask for permission but I am too self conscious. I hope the point and shoot works!

He,he... funny pictures!

I guess most Filipinos love to be photographed.

I rarely ask permission. I only ask permission if I really intrude in someone's personal space or if I do a close-up.

There's a theory that people act differently from their norm self when they're being watched. So if I can get away with it, I'd just snap away ;)

Nice Shot Pusa... Here in the US you dont need to ask permission to take any photos you want, as long as its in public. however, people still get offended and most of them get angry because they think you need their permission to take their photo. If you are in public, everyone and everything is a free game. I myself being a Police Detective here in the US, I dont like my photo being taken while Im working. Many people have asked me and I let them, but thats only if they ask. I guess I get paranoid that they will try to get me in trouble. But for our kababayans, no problem. they could snap away.
