I learned from Carlos Celdran's Manila Tour that these candles are for personal intention prayers, color coded depending on what kind of intention you have.
Red - improvement of family relationship
White - for purity of thought
Pink -improvement of love life
Green - money / success in business
Blue - peace of mind
Black - for enemies (not for them to die but for them to have a change of heart)
