divisoria

Yep your eyes are not deceiving you, this is divisoria and that is the Tutuban Cluster Mall building you're seeing but it is empty (well not really empty but this place is usually crowded everyday). Photo taken yesterday when most people are still asleep after welcoming the new year and most malls are closed. New Year morning is the best time to roam the metropolis since i'll have the road all by myself, and mind you this is the only day and time you'll find this place empty.

I cant justify the diversity and color of Divisoria in this post but to those who doenst know yet, Divisoria or as what pinoys fondly call "Divi" is a big market place where you can find almost everything you'll ever need where the prices are lower (you can even haggle for the price). It is always bustling with activity and is easy to get lost here if you dont know your way around. Divisoria is best known for textile (at Juan Luna St.), fruit market (what they call "bagsakan" at Sto. Cristo), vegetables (at Asuncion), among other things. Divisoria is also a haven for wholesaler, recently malls have sprouted in the area such as the popular 168 Mall, Divisoria Mall, etc.

It looks massive. And the action is under the tent. That's neat. I like the photo too.

I would like to thank you for your visits and comments on my blog in 2007. And I would like to wish you and your friends and family and very healthy and prosperous 2008.

it looks nice without the cluster of people. :-)

il est agréable de se promener dans une ville vide, on a l'impression d'être le maitre du monde ;o) et pour faire des photos c'est très sympathique.

It is nice to walk through an empty city, the impression of being the master of the world ;o), and for making photos is very nice ..

Wonderful photo! Very interesting. I have nothing to compare it to so was surprised when you said it was empty.

It does look massive. I hope you can post some other pictures of the "Divi" sometime in the future.

An interesting building - looks a great deal more structured/dense than the malls I'm used to seeing.

wow..favorite place to shop ko ito..especially sa 168 =) you can find stuffs here at much lower prices than those that you'll find in hongkong stores like the lady's market..

i haven't been there for the christmas season though..i hate crowds kasi...but in these places, ano nga ba naman ang i-expect mo di ba..during the holidays nga lang kasi nag-do-double ang number ng shoppers..so i try to avoid them.
