ninoy aquino day

This statue of Ninoy can be seen at Paseo de Roxas, Makati. No, the statue is not being transported by the truck... it has been there for years now and will stay there for a long time.

Brief history: 24 years ago, Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. was assassinated at the Manila International Airport (now named the Ninoy Aquino International Airport)upon his return from his self imposed exile. He was the main opposition leader of the then President Ferdinand Marcos, and the anger of the Filipino over his death led to the 1986 Edsa People Power.

Update: i just to have to add this video.

I saw him on that fateful day on television. He was interviewed on the airplane and was killed later. It was an awful thing to happen.
