Yehey! Finally i get to visit
Manila Ocean Park, and as promised i'll post photos here and break the one photo a day of this blog. Manila Ocean Park - the Philippines’ first state-of-the-art Oceanarium located at the back of the Quirino Grandstand.
The
Manila Ocean Park Oceanarium is composed of
Agos (Flow) – a rainforest motif complete with 8 tanks of freshwater fishes;
Bahura (The Reef) – exhibition of artificial corals in 48 tanks;
Laot (Fishing Ground) – features big fish and Eagle-spotted rays in a long tank;
Kalaliman (The Deep) – showcases marine animals found in the deepest parts of Philippine waters;
Buhay na Karagatan (Living Ocean) – the main attraction of the oceanarium is a 25-meter long walkway tunnel with 220-degree curved acrylic walls;
Pagi (Sting Ray)– variety of rays fly over while you're under this unique Overhang Tank;
Pating (Shark) – features several species of shark. I'll be posting photos of these sections in separate posts.
Although a big part of the Manila Ocean park is still under construction i am still impressed and loved the feeling of under the sea experience :) This is the first of my Manila Ocean Park series of photos, hope you wont get tired of it.
The first photo shows the "star" at the center of the Manila Ocean Park dome. Here's what you'll see inside, lcd screens circling the whole area with pictures of different fishes.
The view from the ticket lobby, i've heard stories that the lines reach mile long and it takes forever to reach the ticket vendor, that they really have a long queue going inside which somehow made me hesitant and delayed my visit to the ocean park. i even inquired if i can get online tickets for the Manila Ocean park but unfortunately they still dont sell tickets online, but i guess we're lucky coz when we visited last sunday there was no queue at all! o if you're planning to visit the ocean park, be there early (they are selling tickets already as early as 830AM according to their banner).
Oh by the way, food is not allowed inside so make sure that you are full before visiting since some restaurants and food they are selling in the vicinity is a bit expensive.
Manila Ocean Park is open from 10AM-9PM on weekdays and 9AM-9PM on weekends.Admission Fee is 400 pesos for Adults, 350 pesos for children 4.5FT and below, and free for children from 2FT and below. Senior Citizens with valid ID get a 20% discount, and a 10% discount to Manila residents. (individual discounts shall be given to the ID holder only)
Manila Ocean Park have an ongoing Christmas Promo wherein you only pay 500 pesos/person and that would already include the entrance to the Oceanarium, Fish Spa, and the Glass Bottom Boat Ride. I suggest you avail of this special promo cause you'll save a lot since The Fish Spa entrance fee alone is 120 pesos/person and the Glass Bottom Ride admission fee is 150 pesos/person
