Wow. That is an impressive hotel. Nice shot.
This used to be the Silahis International Hotel back in the 1970s. If I'm not mistaken, the hotel opened its doors back in either 1974 or 1975.

huwaw!!! this picture brought back memories for me. yes ma'm.. i'm a product of MCS. Malate Catholic Church is on the left side, and the statue of the Our Lady of Remedies is on the right corner. I went to this place daily for 10 straight years.. ;)
I grew up in Malate. Pusa was standing at Remedios St. when she took this shot. That hotel used to be Silahis hotel. And Aristocrat Restaurant on the other corner. I remember simbang gabi at Malate Church during christmas eve. I miss manila.
This is my hotel - I used to work here right after I graduated. It opened in 1977-1978. It was one of the BEST hotel that time. Has the best disco house (Stargazer), Italian Restaurant (Capriccio), etc. I miss this hotel....and sad that it will close.
oh yeah! i remember this hotel! i stayed there for my first and only visit to the philippines from decemeber 22-1989 until january 7-1990!while there, i was told the "stargazer" wasn't any more the top it used to be. never mind, i liked it! anyway, there wrre so many other places just around the corner if one wanted to have fun...
